True Detective already looks like being one of the biggest TV hits of the year, and has gripped audiences and fans of linea crime drama.
Set in Louisiana the plot vaguely follows the search for a serial killer which begins in 1995 and involves the ritualmurder of a young prostitute found dead with a bizarre symbol on her back and wearing a crown of deer antlers.
Cohle and Martin make an unlikely team whose lives are effectively changed forever and the story focuses on a series of interviews the two give years after the events.
True Detective is the latest HBO series featuring detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart who end up entangled in a 17 year long hunt for a black-magic inspired serial killer.
